Rivers have always been lifelines and places of longing for people. A river in our dreams symbolizes the cycle of fertility, death and renewal. The series "Am Fluss" shows people, among other things, on the Rhine, the German river that is more closely intertwined with history and culture, with myths and old conflicts than few rivers.

The pictures show people in their entire humanity and in their relationship to the landscape. And they tell of the desire for localization and withdrawal.

The recordings are not voyeuristic, but are shaped by the deep desire to understand what gives people stability and calm and why they look for this on the banks of a river.
